Maryland Man Fatally Shot In Garage By Acquaintance, Police Say

Prince George’s County Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 57-year-old man in a garage on Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to the 14200 block of Barenton Drive at approximately 8:55 a.m. on Nov. 19 for reports of a shooting, where they found Joseph Campbell of Upper Marlboro suffering from gunshot wounds inside the garage. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, the preliminary investigation revealed that Campbell and the man who shot him were known to each other, though the suspect remains at large and has not been charged as of Wednesday afternoon.

Detectives are consulting with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office as the investigation continues.
